The alumni network of the MFA program is very active, and students frequently work together throughout their post-graduate careers. Our alums work in a variety of fields – as editors, producers, cinematographers, professors – and find success in funding and making their own films post-graduation.

    Paloma Martinez was named one of the “25 New Faces of Independent Film” by Filmmaker in 2018. Her short documentaries made at Stanford have been broadcast nationally on PBS, featured in The Guardian, The New York Times Op-Docs, and The Atlantic.

    R.J. Lozada’s works have exhibited internationally and nationally on New York Times, The Atlantic, Tribeca Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and others.
  • Priscilla Gonzalez Sainz
    Priscilla Gonzalez Sainz’s (‘17) thesis documentary film ROOM 140 is now streaming on The Atlantic Selects.
  • Portrait of Elivia Shaw
    Elivia's thesis film THE CLINIC won awards at seven film festivals including AFI Fest. She is in pre-production on her first feature documentary which received the 2022 ITVS Documentary Development Fellowship and an SFFILM House Residency.
