Elizabeth Lo’s MISTRESS DISPELLER awarded in Venice

Lo's second feature focuses on a new industry devoted to helping couples stay married in the face of infidelity

Mistress Dispeller, the second feature documentary by Stanford alumna Elizabeth Lo (MFA ‘15) premiered recently in the Horizons section of the Venice Film Festival, winning the Netpac Award. Lo also won the Authors under 40 - Best Director Award.

In Mistress Dispeller, a woman in China desperate to save her marriage hires a professional to go undercover and break up her husband’s affair. With strikingly intimate access, Mistress Dispeller follows this unfolding family drama from all corners of a love triangle.

Following its World Premiere at Venice Film Festival, Mistress Dispeller travels to TIFF, Camden, and New Orleans Film Festival, among others.
